My name is Richard  and I have had a Ham radio license since before 1976  (G8BYI) . I have always had an interest in Radio and Space related things. Even as a child  (of 6 years)  I used my clockwork model train tracks up the garden as a aerial for listening to what I believed were Alien signals, using the old Defiant home radio,  but was actually listening to Morse from light ships off the coast, on Medium wave and Long wave. This was the time of Spuknik 1 and later Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut flight. I then gravitated over the years to ATV and other exotic communication methods. Radio Astronomy and Optical Astronomy also have my interest, as well as Space Travel. I try to construct my own TV equipment, and can do some software design  and microchip design.
I have a Ex Army SCAM 12 pneumatic  pump-up mast that enables me to change antenna line up when needed.
