The building of a replacement GB3UT repeater proceeds. It will be a DATV transmitter primarily, but with Analogue
reception as well as Digital. Will use initially a DTX-1 which I have, for 4mS /sec Mpeg2 transmission and various receivers
including a BATC Ryde for narrow band reception. Arduino Uno used for repeater logic , including speech Info, and morse Ident
, plus âKâ when state changes etc.
I have tested the Tx using the on-board Sandisk
photo sequencer input, signal decoded on a local
DATV rx. Switching A/V Arduino unit ready for
lock signal from receiver box .
I have bought yet another 3d Printer, but this
time it is virtually plug and play , a Flashforge
Dreamer NX, and is working well, printing first
time, without spending a day trying to get a
decent print.
The transmitter enclosure , shown below is working . May
need a few tweaks to the logic sequence once I have
talked to G8DRK.
Getting on well now with receiver enclosure, got most parts
fitted. I have built the A/V switch and Pi boards , loaded Ryde
software, now to write and test Arduino Uno A/V selection
software.
Active A/V will be fed out to the Tx enclosure along with
a lock signal. I am now considering just a Comtech and a
Ryde Rx and limit DATV reception to 2Ms/sec or less on
reception. Most people I believe ,now use a Portsdown for
transmitting and DBV S2. But those using a DTX-1 can use
2Ms/sec mpeg 2.
